“Showrunner Erik Kripke does have an ending in mind.”
It is just recently that The Boys season two has arrived on Amazon. The season is such a big hit already that Amazon is so confident about the renewed superhero extravaganza season three.
Seth Rogen chatting at Comic-Com in July said, “Because this show has fans and it is watched by people like you, they have decided to renew it.
“So, if you like The Boys, you’ve got more of it. Thank God.”
The bigger question that arises is, what will the new season of the show bring?
Get every detail you need to know here very quickly.
When will the season 3 of The Boys will air?
It entirely depends on when the filming of the show kicks-off
“It’s anyone’s guess,” said Rogen at Comic-Con: At Home when asked what the timeline was looking like. “Hopefully sometime this decade.”
But you’ll be pleased to hear that showrunner Eric Kripke and the rest of the team are already “hard at work in the (virtual) writers’ room”, adding: “We’re sad to say, the world has given us way too much material.
“We hope to be shooting in early 2021, but that’s up to a microscopic virus.”
The season one of the show had dropped in July 2019. In 2020, season two just arrived on Amazon on 4th September. So, let’s hope to get a release date close to the end of 2021.
But who knows what will happen with the COVID-19 outburst in the world.
Who is going to be a part of The Boys 3 cast?
Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles is definitely going to be a part of season three even if no one does.
Taking on the role Soldier Boy, he said in an interview, “the original superhero” who fought in World War II and became “the first super celebrity, and a mainstay of American culture for decades”.
He confirmed and shared the big news on his Instagram, “I keep wondering what I’ll do….when @cw_supernatural finally ends this year. Then it hit me.”

The creator behind Supernaturals, Eric Kripke said, “As Soldier Boy, the very first Superhero, he’ll bring so much humour, pathos, and danger to the role. I can’t wait to be on set with him again, and bring a bit of Supernatural to The Boys.”
It is speculated that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the lead actor from The Walking dead would be a part of season three. Eric had earlier revealed that he had been discussing a role with him.
“I don’t think it’s a done deal yet, but the will is there, and we’re both talking about it,” he said.
The lineup for season two is Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), Antony Starr (Homelander), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Jessie T Usher (A-Train), Karen Fukuhara (The Female), Aya Cash (Stormfront), and Giancarlo Esposito (Stan Edgar), among others.
Who knows, who among the characters will be alive till the last episode and will be ready to kick off the next one?
Jack Quaid told Entertainment Weekly that “no-one is ready” for season two, adding: “I have done things this season I will never forget, [things] I’ve never done in my career and probably will not in the future.
“We just go above and beyond in terms of insane, jockeying moments.”
“There is also a lot more intense stuff and scenes that were really difficult for the actors emotionally and require a little bit more time,” Kripke said of season two (via Collider).
Plot: Season 3 The Boys and what will happen?
In a chat with GamesRadar, Rogen teased, “Erik does have an ending in mind that he likes and is working towards”.
It is a bit tricky to answer every question about The Boys season three as Amazon has isn’t streaming all episodes of the show together.
The first three episodes have just arrived on 4th September. The rest of the episodes will drop every Friday and the finale episode will stream on 9th October.
Viewers as expect to get an epic ending as the showrunner said.
When will the trailer for The Boys season 3 will be launched?
Well, with the shooting being on hold currently. Do not expect to get a trailer launch any time soon.
