After the hot reveal of Huawei Honor View 20, Samsung has annouced a phone which features and utilizes its new Infinity-O display. The Samsung A8s sports a distinct design of “hole-punch” for the selfie camera of the phones which is located at the top left of the display. A8s also became the first phone of the A-series which comes without a headphone jack.
Samsung has also said that it is intending to introduce brand new features on its mid-range phones in the first place after surrendering much of its groud to the Chinese rivals. And apparently A8s is a great example of the strategy.
The phone also sports a rare 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080p. The doesn’t yet have an official price yet and according to the rumours, it is fairly a mid-range phone. Snapdragon 710 powers the Samsung A8s and phone comes with two variants of RAM which is 6GB or 8GB. A8s has an inbuilt storage of 128GB and it can be expanded to 512GB via microSD.
The back of the Samsung A8s has the similar kind of triple-camera setup which is same as the Glaxy A7 and the front side of the selfie camera which is also its distinctive features has a cutout design with 24 megapixel sensor.
The year 2018 has been the year of the smartphone with notch display and by the looks of it 2019 is going to be the year of the hole-punch. The annoucement of A8s has brough in a confirmed number of handsets with hole-punch that ranges up to three.
The smartphone industry is looking forward to Huawei Nova 4 that is going to debut on 17th of December and the View 20 is all set to be annouced on 26th of December in China and a world wide launch will follow on 22nd of January.
