The benevolence work of power couple JAY-Z and Beyoncé cannot just simply be avoided or denied. The couple has helped raise the sum of over $7.1 billion as an effort for eradicating poverty.
It was on December 2 that late Nelson Mandela’s legacy was honored by publicizing the Global Citizen Festival of this year. The festival is mainly an initiative for anti-poverty awareness.
The Global Citizens Festival initially planned on raising funds of just $1 billion. However, thanks to the 90 mins performance done by ‘The Carters’ that the festival was able to raise a sum of more than $7 billion.
After JAY-Z and Beyoncé returned back to their hometown post their concert in South Africa, the ‘Flawless’ singer went ahead and posted her thoughts through her Instagram handle and also expressed gratitude.
As per a report published on the official site of Global Citizen, several organizations dropped in their pledges. Cisco, Vodacom, The World Bank as well as the South African government donated for a good cause.
