Back in 1973, something spooky happened on the big screen that changed how we see scary movies. The Phenomenon was a movie called The Exorcist, and it was a real game-changer. Directed by William Friedkin and based on a book by William Peter Blatty, the movie became a sensation worldwide.
Guess what? This movie was made with just $12 million, but it scared up more than $400 million! That’s a huge amount of money. No wonder it became the most successful horror film ever at that time. It even gave rise to more movies that tried to be like it.
