The Flash Season 9 wasn’t even planned
Eric Wallace revealed that his original plan was to end the show by the eighth season. Wallace had also penned down the final episode of the eighth season. The final scene would be all the members of The Flash bidding goodbyes and being in gala mode,
We had to rewrite it three different times because when it was a series finale, we had to have a much more deep conversation with Barry and Iris, dealing with the fact that they were going to have kids soon
So they begin the work to pen down new scenes for the conclusion of season 8 and proceed with the story further. The majority of the star cast also agreed to renew their deal with CW for the final season.
