The Mandalorian is one of the most popular shows on Disney+. The third season of the hit show returned on March 3, 2023, much to the delight of all Star Wars fans. Mando and Grogu are set to continue their adventures following the events of The Book of Boba Fett. Ever since the premiere of The Mandalorian Season 3, fans have been eager to know if the show is renewed for a 4th season.
The answer is yes! The creator of the series Jon Favreau had confirmed that The Mandalorian was renewed for Season 4 at Disney Plus. In an interview with Cinemablend at Star Wars Celebration 2022, Favreau said, “With television, we’re very lucky that we don’t have to rush things through into an hour-and-a-half, two hours. We get to tell stories slowly. So now, as Dave is doing Ahsoka, it’s very much informing the writing that I’m doing for Season 4. It becomes – how should I put it – more precise.”
While the official date of release hasn’t been announced yet, Jon Favreau has admitted that he has already written the script for Season 4 in a recent interview. The filming for the 4th installment is set to begin in October 2023 according to leaks.
The Mandalorian Season 4 Release Date
As mentioned earlier, the filming might begin in October this year; therefore, season 4 can be expected to release in late 2024 or early 2025.
Another series in the ‘Mando-verse,’ Ahsoka, is in the post-production stage and is set to be released later this year. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has wrapped filming and will likely release end of the year. Just like The Book of the Boba Fett, Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka will be set in the same time frame as The Mandalorian. A second season of “The Book of Boba Fett” hasn’t been planned yet, but there are rumors suggesting Season 2 is in the works.
Once all the titles are released, the order of Mando-verse could likely be:
- The Mandalorian Season 1 (released on 12 November ’19)
- The Mandalorian Season 2 (released on 30 October ’20)
- The Book of the Boba Fett (released on 29 December ’21)
- The Mandalorian Season 3 (released on 3 March ’23)
- Ahsoka (set to release in Fall 2023)
- Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (set to release in late 2023)
- The Mandalorian Season 4 (tentative release in late 2024)
The plan seems to be to have a mega-crossover of all the series. It is unsure whether it will all culminate into a movie or a series.
The Mandalorian Season 4: Plot
There hasn’t been any information regarding the plot of Season 4. Although Favreau hinted at the fact that the script of The Mandalorian 4 and Skeleton Crew depended on where the Ahsoka storyline would go. So, The Ahsoka series will show us where Season 4 is headed.

The Mandalorian Season 4: Cast
The show’s cast will depend on the Season 3 finale and the storylines of the spin-off shows. The rumors that Pedro Pascal might depart due to his commitments with HBO’s new hit show The Last of Us, have been rubbished.
Overall, grand plans have been set in motion for the ever-growing Star Wars franchise. It will be interesting to see how everything unravels.
