The official trailer of the second season of Marvel’s “The Punisher” has been released by Netflix.
Cast of The Punisher Season 2
In this season of The Punisher, Jon Bernthal will return as Frank Castle, who was seen living a quiet life until now. He will be involved in a murder attempt of a young girl, whose role will be played by Giorgia Whigham.
Several enemies will return from his past, while he will make some new on the way. Bernthal will be in a dilemma to accept himself as the Punisher or not.
When will be the Punisher Season 2 premiered/released?
The new season of The Punisher will be premiered on 18 January and this was revealed last week in the teaser trailer featuring Billy Russo, Castle’s old best friend. After Netflix canceled Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daredevil, The Punisher is one of the two Marvel shows left.
These cancellations were speculated to be the result of a new streaming service being Disney+ launched by Disney later this year.
What can we expect from Punisher Season 2?
The Punisher season 2 has a somewhat different arc in mind. Russo, with his stitched up face and a grisly look with a blow to his narcissism, won’t be called Jigsaw in this season. Russo’s character will stay grounded with his internal conflicts.
Barnes said,
It’s not just about the physical. He’s had his head very much traumatized in the same way that many veterans have been and he’s trying to deal with that. He’s got brain damage and severe issues with his memory.
Russo’s dialogue in The Punisher Season 2 trailer reflects upon what he has been going through. He feels as if a bomb blew off inside his mind.
The show will further focus on the post-traumatic stress disorder of the veteran after he joins the support group for his treatment at Season 1’s end.
