The Sims 5 release date should be announced soon by EA and Maxis as the current game is done with patch updates and expansion packs. Fans are waiting for more than 5 years for the next Sims game and it is time for the developers to come out with the next installment.
It is reported that “The Sims 5” will have all kinds of updates including massive multiplayer gameplay, VR support. The Sims 5 will also be compatible with the next-gen gaming consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The Sims 5 Release Date Updates
The Sims 5 was supposed to be announced in the 2019 EA Play event but the makers revealed nothing. It has been always a four to five years time gap between the development cycles of the previous Sims game. However, the currently running The Sims 4 has been extended due to its immense popularity with several expansion packs and patch updates.
But the Maxis Monthly stream for March 2020 has been canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic and there no new batch updates announced, everyone is hoping that TS4 game is finally over. It will make way for “The Sims 5” which should release by the end of this year. However, the games of such a big level are not released directly and a trailer is revealed around a year ago. The Sims 5 release date can be set in 2021 at the earliest if EA and Maxis announced the life simulation game this year.
The Sims 5 Console Compatibility: PS5 and Xbox Series X
The Sims 5 game will be compatible across the major gaming platforms and even Windows/Mac PC. It is reported that the upcoming gaming consoles such as Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will be backward compatible and able to play every game that the previous models can run. Sony announced that around more than 4000 games running on PS4 will be playable on the PS5 also.

Microsoft has already announced that Xbox Series X has full backward compatibility with Xbox One and even Xbox 360 consoles. The Sims 5 will be designed keeping in mind the upcoming consoles but at the same time will support the current models.
