The Sims 5 release date will not be announced until the patch updates and expansion packs of current ‘The Sims 4’ game are not over. Fans of the life simulation game have been looking forward to the next batch of TS4 updates but it might not happen at all.
There are reports that EA has canceled the Maxis Monthly stream of March 2020 for reasons unknown. Some players believe that it is a hint that TS4 title updates are now over and it is now time for ‘The Sims 5’ launch and a new announcement trailer will come out very soon.
The Sims 4 Update and Monthly Maxis Stream
The Sims game series fans are always looking forward to the Maxis Monthly release where the leading developers of the game preview new content. The devs also tease about new game packs and future expansions for ‘The Sims 4’ and the monthly stream.

But the event won’t happen this March as the global community manager @SimGuruFrost has confirmed that they won’t be hosting a Maxis Monthly stream for this month. When someone asked about the next patch update for The Sims 4, the manager didn’t reply anything. It means that there might be no new patches for TS4 after all which implies ‘The Sims 5’ is almost ready to launch.
The Sims 5 Release Date and New Features
The Sims 5 release date still won’t happen this year as EA and Maxis will still launch other content for TS4. Also, the game is of such a high magnitude, the first trailer will be out at least a year ago. It was recently teased by EA that ‘The Sims 5’ will have massive online multiplayer features, along with cloud support and social media interactions. The Sims 5 trailer could be revealed at EA Play 2020 along with late 2021 as the possible release date.
