Stellan Skarsgard
Stellan Skarsgard is a renowned actor in Sweden and the US who has been featured in over 100 movies during his lengthy profession. These include popular titles such as Good Will Hunting, Thor, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Dune.
However, Stellan is not the sole Skarsgård in the entertainment industry, as six out of his seven sons have inherited his acting talent.
The head of the Skarsgård family was born on June 13, 1951, in Gothenburg, Sweden. He began his journey as an actor at a young age, initially performing in school plays and eventually securing his first significant role in 1968.
This role was in the popular Swedish TV series, Bombi Bitt, which catapulted Stellan to fame and heartthrob status in his home country.
My Skarsgard
My Skarsgard graduated from medical school, three years after getting married to Stellan. She landed roles in various projects, like Jim & Piraterna Blom, before becoming a doctor in Stockholm, Sweden. My has also been a special guest on popular TV shows such as Skavalan, Gornorron, and Efter Tio.
Alexander Skarsgard
Born on August 25, 1976, in Stockholm, Alexander Skarsgård is the oldest sibling among the Skarsgård family. At the young age of 7, he landed his first film role in Åke och hans värld (1984) alongside his father, Stellan, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
He then took on the lead role in the popular Swedish film Hunden Som Log in 1989. However, the sudden fame and scrutiny caused him to leave the acting world and enlist in the Swedish Armed Forces at 19.
In 2008, Alexander rose to fame with his role as Eric in the popular HBO series True Blood, which aired for seven seasons. Since then, he has continued to star in successful projects like Big Little Lies, for which he received both an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
Alexander has made appearances in several films such as Long Shot, Godzilla vs. Kong, The Legend of Tarzan, The Northman, and Infinity Pool. Additionally, he played the role of Lukas in the last two seasons of Succession.
Gustaf Skarsgard
Gustaf is a well-known figure in the film industry, having appeared in popular movies such as Evil, The Way Back, Air, and the highly praised Oppenheimer.
Additionally, he has an extensive television resume, portraying Floki in Vikings, Karl Strand in Westworld, and Merlin in Cursed.
From 1999 to 2005, Gustaf was romantically involved with actress Hanna Alström. Presently, he is with Caroline Sjöström and they welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2020.
Sam Skarsgard
Unlike most of the Skarsgard family members, Sam is one who decided to follow a different career path. Back in 2002, Sam Skarsgard briefly worked in the entertainment world as a production assistant on a short film and a body double in the movie The Invisible.
However, he has since taken after his mother’s career path and is currently employed in an ICU. Maintaining a low public presence has always been Sam’s choice.

Bill Skarsgard
Following in the footsteps of his brothers and sisters, Bill pursued a career in acting and rose to prominence with his noteworthy performance on Netflix’s Hemlock Grove.
He gravitated towards horror-themed productions, taking on the iconic role of Pennywise in the It film series. Additionally, he has made appearances in Barbarian and the television show Castle Rock.
Apart from horror, Bill also had roles in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, Atomic Blonde, Nine Days, and John Wick: Chapter 4. He is set to take on the main character in a new version of The Crow and portray Count Orlok in a reimagining of Nosferatu.
Eija Skarsgard
Eija, the only daughter in the Skarsgard family, was born on Feb. 27, 1992, in Sweden. Stellan has stated that Eija takes pleasure in being the sole female in their sizable household.
After her career in modeling, Eija became a manager at a nightclub and has also made appearances on Young Royals, Vargasommar, and Lust. In 2011, Eija met her current spouse, Zeke Tastas, and they got married almost eight years later.
Valter Skarsgard
Valter, the youngest child of Stellan and My in the Skarsgard family was born in Sweden on Oct. 25, 1995. He has also followed in his older siblings and father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in acting.
Valter has acted in popular films including IRL, Lords of Chaos, Don’t Click, and Funhouse. He has also made appearances on television shows like Black Lake and Kalta and is currently playing a lead role in the Swedish crime series Beck.
Megan-Everett Skarsgard
Stellan’s family lineage is nearly as vast as his list of acting credits. He has been wed twice: Initially to My Skarsgård from 1975 until their separation in 2007 and then to film producer Megan Everett in 2009.
Stellan and My have six children in common (Alexander, Gustaf, Sam, Bill, Eija, and Valter), while he and Megan have two sons (Ossian and Kolbjörn).
Megan is a successful writer who has released two books for children. She also worked as a producer for the documentary “Behind the Scenes: The Filming of Bye” and wrote for the films “German Autumn,” “What Remains,” and “Fisher of Souls.”
Ossian Skarsgard
In 2009, Stellan’s seventh child in the Skarsgard family, Ossian Skarsgård, was born to him and his wife Megan Everett. Despite being a teenager, Ossian has followed in the Skarsgard family’s footsteps and pursued acting.
He appeared in the 2022 Swedish movie Bränn Alla Mina Brev (Burn All My Letters) alongside his older brother Bill.
Kolbjorn Skarsgard
The Skarsgård family’s youngest member – Kolbjörn, was born in 2012. He follows in the footsteps of his father and many older brothers as a child actor.
His debut role was alongside brother Bill in the 2022 Netflix show Clark. According to his mother’s Instagram, he also appeared as Mio in the Swedish TV series Kenny Starfighter.
