The Witcher Season 2 is currently filming and the first two to three episodes are shot starring Henry Cavill and other main characters from the first season. Freya Allan as Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer are also the main characters to return along with Geralt of Rivia.

It is expected that shooting will be wrapped up by August so that the second season of ‘The Witcher’ Season 2 could have a Christmas 2020 premiere on Netflix. Fans could expect The Witcher trailer to be dropped at 2020 San Diego Comic-Con.
The Witcher Season 2 Plot and Book Adaptation
The first season of Witcher was very complicated as it contained three separate timelines which combined at the end. But the showrunners have assured that the second season won’t have such problems and it will be more of linear storytelling. The Witcher Season 2 plot will be based on the books in Witcher series, ‘The Last Wish’ and ‘Blood of Elves’ by Andrej Sapkowski. The storyline of season 2 will be more focused and have individual character arcs of Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer as the main focus.
The Witcher Season 2 Cast Updates and Total Episodes
The Witcher Season 2 has cast Paul Bullion as Lambert of Kaer Morhen and Yasen Atour as Coën from Poviss and the two new Witchers will be joining Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia. It is also confirmed now that Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju famous for playing Tormund Giantsbane has also been cast in season 2 of Witcher as Nivellen and fans are really excited to have him back.

There are also hints that Mark Hamill could be roped in to play the role of Vesamir due to fan popularity. The Witcher Season 2 will have a total of 8 episodes just like the first season, there are also chances it could be increased to 10 episodes if the storyline demands.
