After completing her first shift at a 9 to 5 job, a woman broke down in tears. It can be expensive to want to live in a city. Brielle, a TikToker, had to start working a 9 to 5 job after deciding she wanted to be a city girl. Unfortunately, she couldn’t handle the travel time for her new job, so it quickly became a source of stress for her.
Brielle, A TikToker Cries After 9 To 5 Job
Brielle recorded herself sobbing as she gave an explanation of why her first 9 to 5 job had overwhelmed her after finishing her shift. Since then, TikTok has responded in agreement with Brielle regarding her breakup gone viral. In the 1.6 million-view video, the words “QOTD (question of the day) in a 9-5 how do you have time for your life” are written across the screen.
Brielle claimed that living in the city and being able to walk to work would make things much easier, but as she has already mentioned, the cost is prohibitive. She rides the train as a result. She leaves for home at 6:15 p.m. at the latest, having boarded the train at 7:30 a.m. Brielle doesn’t “have time to do anything” enjoyable or productive by then.
She explains that because her work requires her to travel “in person” to the city, which takes “f***ing forever to get there,” she is clearly upset.
Despite having more than 100,000 Instagram followers, Brielle made the decision to take her first 9–5 job in order to support herself after graduating from college and moving to the city.
Brielle’s tearful justification for feeling overburdened by her eight-hour workday was captured in a viral video. She said,
“I know I’m probably just being so dramatic and annoying, but this is my first job, like, my first 9 to 5 job after college.”
“If it was remote, you get off at 5, and you’re home, and everything’s fine. But, like, I’m not home. It takes me so long to get home,” Brielle added. “And I know it could be worse. I know I could be working longer, but like, I literally get off [and] it’s pitch black. How do you have friends? How do you have time to like meeting a guy? How do you have time for dating? I don’t have time for anything, and I’m so stressed out.”
She went on to say that she commuted for over an hour each way, leaving her house at 6:15 and arriving at work at 7. Brielle continued, “I don’t have time to do anything,” complaining about not having enough time for herself. I don’t have the time or energy to prepare dinner, so I just want to take a shower, eat, and go to bed.
She went on to complain about the fact that she could never find time to work out, declaring that the concept was “out the window.” In addition, she wondered how much time she would have to spend with her friends.
Brielle also attempted to clarify that her job’s lack of remote work was the sole cause of her stress, stating that it would be greatly alleviated if she could get home in the early hours of the morning.
Brielle posted another TikTok after talking about how she felt about her 9 to 5 job. In it, she stated that she was still working but that she didn’t want to be put on “blast” for her emotional collapse.
