Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the classic tale of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet will be a tale of wordsmiths, rhymers, lovers, and fighters.
“Violent delights have violent ends.”
Although Tom Holland has been announced as the show’s star, the director is yet to reveal the rest of the cast. It is also not confirmed whether this production will move to Broadway after its initial 12 weeks in London.
Jamie has remarked that working with Tom Holland is an honor. He expressed his excitement at welcoming Tom back to the West End production. Tom is also known for his part in Billy Elliot: The Musical in the West End production in 2008. He was just 12 years old at the time.

-Jamie Lloyd in an interview with Playbill
In an interview with Backstage in 2021, Holland expressed his desire to return to theatre to hone his acting skills, and it looks like the wish is finally fulfilled. Besides Spiderman, Holland has been remarkable in his other works such as The Crowded Room, Cherry, Chaos Walking, and many more.
“I’d be so naive to say that my training is finished. Acting is a muscle, and it’s something that can always get stronger. Whenever you work with new people, regardless of whether you think they’re good or not, you will always learn something from them. I’m continuing to learn every day.”
At the young age of sixteen, Holland underwent a significant transition when he began his acting career with The Impossible in 2012. Holland went on to win multiple awards for the film, including the London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year and the National Board of Review Award for Breakthrough Performance.
