A nine-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his own sister in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the time of this horrific accident, the parent was asleep upstairs, shortly before midnight. The parent only woke up when her daughter entered the room, woke her up and said she had stabbed her brother. The 12-year-old sister is now in juvenile custody with the Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit in charge of the investigation.
The CPR was performed at the River Bank Plaza Apartments complex. The boy was rushed to the hospital and taken into surgery. However, he soon succumbed to his deadly injuries. Moreover, the identities of both children were kept under wraps. The police do not have the motivation/intent behind this murder.
Tulsa Police Capt. Richard Meulenberg explained the procedure followed after the responders got there. He said, “Officers, EMSA, fire personnel get there, they start doing life-saving measures, the 9-year old at the scene. The 9-year is transported to a local hospital and unfortunately, he died from those injuries at about 2:37 this morning. Intent is going to be a key component that the court system will have to work out. Obviously, we did some interviews, but interviews with a 12-year-old are very preliminary. This, unfortunately, has no easy end or easy path, this is going to be a long convoluted process that’s going to be extremely taxing on everyone involved in this.”

The neighbor reacted to the tragic news by saying, “She’s losing two children at one time, her life, or the little girl’s life will never be the same, especially the little girl.” They also had a message for the grieving mother. They said, “Just be strong. I know it’s easy for someone that it hasn’t happened to, to say that. But just be strong, keep your faith, and just don’t give up on your daughter, don’t give up on her at all.”
The city is yet again shaken as this is the second homicide in Tusla this year already. Tulsa Police Department Chief Franklin opened up. He said, “All homicides are tragic, but the 2nd homicide of 2023 in Tulsa shows a definitive societal problem. The question is, how does society address a child killing another child?”
