We all have been waiting for a long time for the lockdown guidelines to relax. And as the conditions are now improving across the world, the government too is opening up the public places for the residents to rejuvenate themselves.
But, just in time! Before the Rockaway Beach, NYC opened, a shark turned up in the clear waters.
Local Regina Cantoni spotted a fin near the Rockaway Beach around 2:30 p.m. just 10 to 15 feet from where she was sitting on the sand. As soon as everyone saw the shark they waived off the social distancing norms and swarmed towards the big fish.
This incident grabbed quick attention from the masses and everyone screamed, “Shark!”. The lady told that all the people on the beach gathered and just wanted to snap the shark in their cameras.
The 43-year-old real estate agent followed the fin east, where at one point, the shark seemed to be letting itself wash up on shore with the tide. The photos that were posted on Twitter showed the 7-foot sea creature lying on the sand, that later died.
The Parks Department said the thresher shark was injured after getting caught on a jetty at Beach 86.
People freaked out as the shark appeared on the shore of Rockaway Beach
Although the incident has left the people in fear. But they are content as no one was injured.
Otherwise, the sun worshippers would have been in danger as the shark came near the shores. One of the witnesses said that she has seen a shark at the Rockaway Beach for the first time in 10 years. And this incident will definitely haunt her whenever she steps into the water to swim.
However, the lockdown protocols are relaxed. But, we would recommend you to stay at home for a while. So, the coronavirus cases can be brought under control. Also, social distancing is the only vaccine to keep ourselves safe from the deadly virus. So, we request you to stay home and stay safe.
