Ever since his 2016 loss to Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz has been away from the action inside the Octagon. However, over three years after the bout at UFC 202, Diaz is back in the UFC! This time, he is gearing up to face Anthony Pettis.
While there is a lot of hype and support towards the favour of Diaz leading up to UFC 241, it appears that Diaz is indeed entering the match as an underdog!
Nate Diaz vs Anthony Pettis is a match that a lot of people are looking forward to. However, is Diaz going to lose his first match in three years? Let us take a closer look:
Nate Diaz vs Anthony Pettis: Will Diaz Lose His First Match Back?
Given the fact that Diaz has been away from the ring for the past three years, there is bound to be ‘ring rust’. Pettis, on the other side, has been on quite a roll lately. Diaz might be out of touch but he continues to be one of the most dangerous and fiercest men in the UFC. In his first match back, he is hungry for a win – but whether he gets it or not is a big question!
Calling Nate Diaz an ‘underdog’ would be unfair as he can still whoop anyone’s ass on his day – but the fact is that Pettis has been out and about, and quite active in the ring while Diaz hasn’t really been active. Moreover, while Diaz has been in more fights than Pettis, his opponent does have a better win-loss record too!
Did Bisping really say that Anthony Pettis is a better striker than Nate Diaz?? 😂😂

I’m going with Pettis…I love Diaz but I’ve been a pettis fan since his WEC days

Will We Ever Get to See Diaz vs McGregor 2?
A win for Diaz in the Nate Diaz vs Anthony Pettis match would mean that he would probably challenge Conor McGregor once again – looking forward to avenging that 2016 loss. For now, however, Pettis at UFC 241 is where Diaz’s focus is on.
