A look at this rivalry takes us all the way back to UFC 229 where Khabib jumped the Octagon and started attacking members of Camp McGregor. This was followed by members of Khabib’s team attacking McGregor’s team and there was a retaliation which led to both the men being handed a ban. Now that Khabib’s ban period is over, it will be interesting to see the Russian trying to unify the lightweight championship and become the undisputed champ!
In his championship journey, Khabib Nurmagomedov will now face Dustin Poirier and it will be interesting to see who wins this bout! Will it be Khabib’s first loss or will Poirier become the 28th successive victim in Khabib’s list? There’s always Khabib vs McGregor and Khabib vs Ferguson to think of, after this fight is done with!

Going purely by the betting odds, Khabib Nurmagomedov seems to be leading so far. However, two things need to be considered – odds have proven to be wrong in most big-money fights.
