Poirier vs Khabib: The Story So Far
Dustin Poirier vs Khabib Nurmagomedov was set up after Khabib was suspended after the events of UFC 229 where a post-match altercation which spilled beyond the octagon saw both him and Conor McGregor being suspended. After a fight with Max Holloway, which was won by Dustin Poirier, he was crowned the interim lightweight champion.
However, now that Khabib is back, he is looking forward to face the new champion and to unify the championships to become the UFC World Lightweight Champion. Khabib is a strong contender but his opponent’s last four wins were against Holloway, Alvarez, Gaethje and Pettis!

A loss would mean that Khabib’s streak would be broken. Poirier is currently 25-5 in UFC (with 1 No Contest). Both the men are equally talented and are known for their impressive performances.
