Let us take a closer look as to when McGregor will return to the Octagon – and when (or if) he will face Khabib again.
What Has Conor McGregor Been Up To Since UFC 229?
UFC 229 was the last time we saw McGregor in action. Following the post-match controversies of McGregor vs Khabib, he has been away from the UFC and had even announced a ‘retirement’ on Twitter. However, this has since been termed as a ‘stunt’ by many, as McGregor has done it in the past too.
However, before he returns to full-time action inside the octagon, the Irishman is demanding an ownership stake in the company which Dana White has denied. White has stated that McGregor is ‘training’ for a return and it is expected that he will be back by the end of the year.
Update on McGregor vs Khabib: is it going to happen?
While White has not confirmed if a rematch between McGregor vs Khabib is indeed going to happen, he said that he “could” see it happening sometime in the future. He added that Conor McGregor really wants that fight. It will be interesting to see if this fight is what lures him back inside the Octagon.
