Fans of UFC are waiting in anticipation for the moment when Dana White finally makes the McGregor vs Khabib rematch official. However, it seems that their wait will continue to grow longer as it now appears that McGregor vs Diaz III will replace the much-awaited rematch between the Irishman and the Russian.
While Khabib was McGregor’s last opponent, McGregor was Diaz’s last opponent. Diaz vs Pettis is all set to be the co-main event of UFC 241 while UFC 242 will be headlined by Khabib vs Poirier.
If Diaz wins Saturday we need Diaz vs McGregor III

McGregor vs Diaz III: A Match Three Years in the Making?
Diaz’s last fight happened in August 2016 against Conor McGregor. This was their rematch, and Diaz had won their first fight all the way back in March 2016. A third match between the two is not out of the question as both men continue to go in and out of the lightweight/bantamweight divisions. Over the three years since their last match, McGregor has fought (and lost to) Khabib Nurmagomedov while Diaz has his first fight this weekend.
It can truly be said that this match was three years in the making and the two are indeed going to square off to a lot of anticipation. McGregor vs Diaz III is sure to blow the roof off any arena it happens at.

Is McGregor vs Khabib Cancelled?
McGregor rarely fights in the UFC these days. Having fought (and lost) just one fight in three years, it appears that he is looking forward to retiring soon. While we all want to see McGregor vs Khabib II, the possibility of getting a McGregor vs Diaz III is also equally great!
