Conor McGregor is all set to make his UFC return later this year. The Irish superstar is undoubtedly one of the biggest names missing from UFC for over a year now. All set to make his comeback, the question now is – who is McGregor going to face once he makes his comeback?!
There are quite a few contenders who are lining up – but the biggest challenge now appears to be Dustin Poirier, who appeared at UFC 242 against Khabib Nurmagomedov in a losing effort. it will be interesting to see if a rematch between the two does happen – McGregor vs Poirier 2 will be quite a watch!

McGregor vs Poirier Up Next for The Irishman?
Given that all the major names are currently involved in big fights, Poirier appears to be a good option for McGregor. Nate Diaz is facing Jorge Masvidal, Khabib Nurmagomedov is expected to face Tony Ferguson, and Cowboy Cerrone and Justin Gaethje JUST faced each other at UFC Fight Night 158, McGregor seems to be short of options!
What also makes us believe that McGregor vs Poirier 2 is indeed going to happen is the fact that Poirier has been calling out McGregor all over Twitter. He has challenged McGregor in his own playground – as McGregor has used Twitter to call out many people, including Khabib Nurmagomedov.
People don’t remember or chose to forget.. when Conor Mcgregor fought Dustin Poirier , Poirier had the most wins/most finished in FW history.! This was a big fight & a step up for Conor at the time… and he ran through Dustin & ran Dustin out of the division.

When Will Conor McGregor Return to UFC?
The biggest question now is – when will McGregor make his return to the Octagon. Even if McGregor vs Poirier 2 doesn’t really happen, McGergor is likely to face an opponent in late 2019 or early 2020. Given UFC 243 and UFC 244 are already stacked, we expect McGregor to star in the year-end UFC 245 PPV!
