Tulsi Gabbard confirms she is running for President 2020 in the upcoming general elections against Donald Trump. Tulsi Gabbard has now joined hands with the Democrats that are standing against Donald Trump.
Who is Tulsi Gabbard?
Tulsi Gabbard, former vice-chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee now serves the House Foreign Affair Committee. She is also a retired Iraq war soldier and also the first Hindu member of the Congress.
She met the Syrian dictator in 2017 which raised several criticisms.
But she explained the meeting to CNN as,
“I just met him as the opportunity arose and didn’t had any plans to meet him.If we have truly cared for the people of Syria, we have to meet anyone of them. The person who can make peace and end the suffering of the people. And that’s what I talked about in the meeting with him.”
She was criticized for secretly meeting the dictator because the dictator had been accused of war crimes and genocide. This controversy got along for very long.
Tulsi Gabbard has announced during an interview by Van Jones for his show that she is running for President in 2020. She will make a formal notification within next week and would be against Donald Trump in 2020 Presidential Elections.
She commented that,
The nation has one big issue central to all and that is issue of war and peace.
Gabbard in 2015 when she was the vice-chairwoman, became very critical to Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She then resigned with the post and the high profile supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Other Candidates for President 2020
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is forming an exploratory committee for the presidential run in 2020 as announced on New Year’s Eve.
Julian Castro, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary also notified about the formation of a similar committee and will be announcing soon about his plans of 2020 presidential elections.
Other candidates that may also be running for election are former Vice President Joe Biden and his current status is still in processing for the candidature.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders may also run for President 2020 but he will announce his final decision soon.
