Usher and his wife separated publicly earlier this year and now Usher has filed for a divorce officially.
Documents have been filed by the “Let it Burn” singer in Atlanta to finally quit the marriage. The move is not at all surprising as the couple has already decided to get separated back in March after several lawsuits and allegations. This comes nine months after the end of their three year long relationship.
According to the documents, 24 December 2017 is the official date of the couple’s separation. A confidential settlement agreement was also reached between the two. So the two of them are just waiting for an official stamp and the things are already over between them.
Usher and Grace made a joint statement saying,
After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple. We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives.
The couple got hitched in 2015. The two don’t have any children together. Usher has hired the same attorney who fought his previous divorce case against Tameka Foster, his ex-wife. T
The couple feels that this will be best for both of them. It is their mutual decision. Everything is settled between them. All they need is an official stamp to approve their separation. They still share the same respect and love for one another and it will only increase with time.
The couple will stay friends and support each other in times to come. The announcement came after Usher was alleged with intentionally affecting people with herpes. The allegations have been denied by the singer. He said that he had no such intentions of causing any harm to anyone.
According to Usher, the plaintiffs have already assumed the risk when they consented to have sex with him.
