Peacock has canceled Vampire Academy season 2 despite the great reviews from critics and audiences alike.
Vampire Academy fans are taking a stake in their heart with the show’s cancellation. The show has become a part of the cancelation reaper. Even with its strong female leads, queer representation, and diverse cast, the show could not get a renewal for another season.
Why should the Vampire Academy season 2 renewal happen?
Vampire Academy brought a fresh approach to the world of dhampirs, strigoi and moroi. Based on books by Richelle Mead, Vampire Academy’s alums Marguerite Maclntyre and Julie Plec knew that their audience had grown up and they were no longer the teenagers who read the books.Don’t know what to say. We gave it everything & we’re heartbroken. I’ll love these people forever. So grateful to you @Caryshotwife & @julieplec. The support we received from the fans blew our minds, we always felt so safe in your love. Proud to have been part #VampireAcademy 💔 pic.twitter.com/vCf0x4gLSa

The creators of Vampire Academy included political intrigue and delivered a sensual and complicated romance. They also recognized that even in the world of magic, not everyone is white and straight.
Daniela Nieves and Sisi Stringer quickly adapted the roles of Lissa Dragomir and Rose Hathaway, making the fans forget about their casts of the years after reading the books. Even though both the characters are white in the books as most of the genres have centered around white.
The fans even got to see interracial relationships with two non-white characters. From Rose and Mason’s messy romance Lissa and Christian’s complicated relations to Victor and Robert’s marriage, this show has it all.
Someone needs to pick up Vampire Academy for season 2 because a world without it is unacceptable #VampireAcademy

It is certainly weird that such shows with a wide representation, including queer relationships led by women of color, keep getting canceled. Vampire Academy has delivered a truly unforgettable performance. Fans loved the performance of the cast members who gave their best.
Vampire Academy Review and Ratings
The show got an overwhelmingly positive response from the critics. It got a score of 77% on the Tomatometer, far better than the film adaptation and AMC’s Mayfair Witches. The show could have survived 5-10 seasons a decade ago. But now, with a wide range of shows available, there is not much scope for a Vampire Academy season 2 release to happen.
