Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram on Tuesday to commemorate the 22nd wedding anniversary of her late husband, Kobe Bryant.
Vanessa Bryant, 40, captioned a photo of herself and her late husband traveling in Florence, Italy.
‘Happy anniversary, baby,’ the Los Angeles native said. ‘I love you @kobebryant #22.’
The late Lakers star had a soft spot for Italy because he spent several years there as a child, spoke Italian, and vacationed there frequently with his family.
Kobe and Vanessa Bryant first met on a music video set in November 1999, when Kobe was 20 years old, and Vanessa was 17.

After Vanessa Bryant turned 18, the NBA legend proposed to her, and the couple married on April 18, 2001, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, California.

The couple would have four daughters: Natalia, 20; Bianka, 6; Capri, 3, and the late Gigi, who died at the age of 13 in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on January 26, 2020, along with her father, 41, and seven others.
Pilot Ara Zobayan, 50, Payton Chester, 13, Sarah Chester, 46, Alyssa Altobelli, 14, Keri Altobelli, 46, John Altobelli, 56, and Christina Mauser, 38, were also killed in the disaster.
