In Boston situation has turned out to be a little sticky.
In the 2018 ALCS World Series championship the Red Sox are looking to defeat the champs. While there is nothing wrong with that intention, things went a little sticky when they opted to get a little help from pine tar in doing so.
In Game 2, Matt Barnes was dominant for the Sox. In a fan filmed video that surfaced on the internet, the pitcher was evidently seen visiting and revisiting a particular area on his non throwing arm. He did this in order to gather pine tar to help him add movement to his off-speed pitches.
Hiding of pine tar in a pitcher’s body is not new to the game, during the 2014 season in a game against the Red Sox the Boston fans were quick to jump on Yankees pitcher Micheal Pineda for using the pine tar.
Currently, the series is tied 1-1.
