Season 6 of Vikings is expected to return later this year and the fans are waiting excitedly. The viewers are already making speculations if Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) will return or not. But even if he returns, things won’t get better for him. Maybe there is more heartbreak in store for him.

Currently, the main focus of the show is on Ragnar’s sons, Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) and Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig). But the show’s original hero may return. There is a possibility that Ragnar may return in the flashbacks. He would have to brace himself for some heartbreak.
The speculations regarding Ragnar’s return began with the Instagram post where the former King was seen along with his on-screen son.
It would have been a deliberate choice by the director, perhaps just for the visual effect, but spilling red wine has traditional associations in the west, because it reminds us of blood perhaps.
Could the red wine symbolism suggest that the prediction of his sons’ death was already made by Ragnar? Will he return during his sons’ death scene in a vision, as they have visions flash before their eyes? The Vikings Season 6 will focus on the big war between Ivar and Bjorn. Maybe one of the sons will perish in the fight.
Ragnar was killed back in season 4 and there is no way he could be resurrected. The only way we could see him again is through flashbacks. He may offer some advice to his sons or what he would have done if he was alive. We will find out about Ragnar’s return soon.
