Ever since Blizzard announced Warcraft 3: Reforged, fans have been divided in their opinion. While some are eagerly awaiting its release, others wonder if there is anything new it is bringing to the table and if waiting for Warcraft 4 would be better. So let’s take a look at what we know so far about the remaster.
Release date for Warcraft 3: Reforged
Blizzard has not given any indications when they will release the remastered version of Warcraft 3. In fact, they haven’t even announced its beta version yet. All we know so far is that it will release sometime this year. Hopefully, the beta version will also be out soon, too.
Fans are hoping that with all the extra time developers are taking, they can see some real changes in gameplay – the addition of new heroes, a new hero tavern, or at least a new unit for each race. We do know that Blizzard plans to polish up the graphics in order to revive interest in the popular RTS franchise.
Divided opinion among Warcraft fans
Most casual players are slightly annoyed, if not overwhelmingly disappointed, with the announcement of Warcraft 3: Reforged. They would rather see the studio put efforts into bringing out Warcraft 4 than see minimal improvements made to a game that came out in 2002.

The pro community has been much warmer in their reception. They are excited about the opportunity to continue honing their skills. But what has got them most excited is the addition of the remaster to Battle.net and the all-new ladder system.
When will we get Warcraft 4?
There is not a sliver of news on the horizon as to when Blizzard plans to move forward with Warcraft 4. But perhaps, Warcraft 3: Reforged is not simply a cash-grab, as most seem to dismiss it for. The company could use it as a springboard to measure interest in the RTS. If the game receives positive reception from fans post-release, it could open the doors for Warcraft 4.
