DC Studios’ Blue Beetle was reportedly getting pushed until next year amid the ongoing WGA and SAG strike in Hollywood. Warner Bros. Studios did not want the strike to affect the release of the film and were hence considering postponing the release dates.
Blue Beetle Release Date 2023
According to recent reports by Puck, DC’s Blue Beetle was likely to be pushed until next year for release due to the ongoing strike in Hollywood. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike has caused doubts among many production companies since actors aren’t available to promote the movies until the strike ends. Many series and movies have been delayed due to the WGA strike which began in May 2023.
After almost two months of writer’s strike, the SAG-AFTRA joined the WGA to stand together against the labour dispute. This is the first time since 1960 that both the writers’ and the actors’ unions have come together.
However, the release date of Blue Beetle remains unaffected as the studio decided to move forward with its original release date of August 18, 2023.
