A report from Variety has reportedly surfaced online which states that Warner Bros. Studio is not willing to move forward with a Batman movie which star Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader. Warner Bros. is seeking an actor to replace Ben Affleck as the Batman very desperately.
According to the source, the studio is “reevaluating its approach” to the movies which are based on the Detective Comics. On the contrary, Warner Bros has also decided that they will not move forward with Batman and Superman movies that feature Ben Affleck and the titular Man of Steel Henry Cavill.
Ben Affleck, 46, made his first appearance as the Caped Crusader, The Dark Knight in 2016 movie, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as a grizzled and burnt out vigilante who seemingly discovered a rejuvenating sense of hope when he encountered with Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel. Henry Cavill has apparently exited from the Detective Comics Extended Universe Franchise which is being speculated in recent weeks.
Batman V Superman was a commercial and a critical disappointment for the Warner Bros’ studio as well as many fans.
After critics criticized Affleck’s three outings as the Bat of Gotham which has been traversed in three films, Affleck was recently revealed that he is interested in reprising the role of Dark Knight.
The report originated from Hollywood life, that pointed out that a source close to Affleck claimed that the actor still feels that he “has not completed what he wants to do with this role.” The exciting method of Joaquin Phoenix triggers this interest as The Clown, Joker character in an origin movie which is set outside the current Detective Comics Extended Universe.
Industry experts believe that “high insurance costs” will eventually force Warner Bros. to replace Affleck as a Dark Knight, who wants to make insurance for already expensive, such as the theoretical sequel to Justice League or standalone Batman movie.
