The key difference between both movies is that the Mugen Train is a standalone story that took place in season 1 and season 2.
On the flip side, To the Swordsmith Village will take place in Season 2 of Demon Slayer.
Another difference is the Mugen Train focuses on one main villain, Enmu. He is a small-rank demon who has the capability to manipulate dreams and emotions.
On the other side, To the Swordsmith Village features multiple enemies that Tanjiro and his friends will fight in their journey, such as Muzan Kibutsuji, the main antagonist and the first demon.
The new Demon Slayer movie is a combination of the two last episodes of Entertainment District Arc alongside some special episodes of Season 3.

Demon Slayer To the Swordsmith Village movie is part of the Demon Slayer world tour. Season 3 has already premiered in Downtown LA on 18th February 2023.
The Demon Slayer world tour will take the movie to different countries. For instance, the movies will be distributed in theatres worldwide under the Demon Slayer world tour event.
