Killer responds, however, that Hawkins is disguising his own remorse for supporting Kaidou because the alliance is struggling against the odds he predicted.
Killer saves Kid
When the battle is over, Hawkins assures Killer that they will be able to identify who made the right choice. The killer then gets back to his feet. When he does, Killer queries Hawkins about the consequences of suffering harm that cannot be repaired. Hawkins wonders what Killer is getting at because he ought to understand how his powers operate, but Killer quickly amputates Hawkins’ left arm.

When Killer reminds Hawkins that Kid doesn’t have a left arm, Hawkins realizes why he sustained the injury as he holds his severed limb. And sure enough, Kid’s artificial arm also breaks off. The straw doll appears as Killer grips Hawkins’ arm, and Hawkins affirms that it was his final one. He summons the Straw Man, who he sends to fight Killer, after drawing the Straw Man’s Card: Death. Killer, however, destroys it with the Zanshu Claw. Hawkins asserts that the Straw Man is immortal and will come back just as he pulls another card to reveal the fate of the conflict to himself. To his horror, he discovers that it is “The Tower” when he does.
Killer utilizes Jin Sonic to kill Hawkins instantly while his squad applauds him. It turns out that “The Tower” carries a hidden significance that denotes the beginning of a new route while simultaneously denoting enormous change and upheaval of the established order. While Killer applauds Hawkins for falling, Kid confirms that he feels better now.
