Did you know what happened at the Tsingtao beer factory? A worker of China’s brewer Tsingtao was caught on camera urinating into a container of beer ingredients at the Tsingtao beer factory. The video, which circulated on China’s microblogging platform Weibo, depicts a guy entering a container that is thought to contain the beer’s primary ingredients and urinating within it while wearing a uniform and a safety helmet.
Tens of millions of people have watched the video on social media. The Tsingtao beer factory added that the batch of chemicals had been sealed and that it had notified authorities as soon as it had become aware of the video. Tsingtao is one of China’s top beer producers and its biggest exporter. It is one of the most well-known beverage brands in the nation, and its tall bottles of crisp lager are a staple of bars and eateries throughout East Asia. The Chinese brewery produces several types of beers, including a classic lager, a stout, a pilsner and an IPA.
What Happened At The Tsingtao Beer Factory?
The man appeared to first climb over a high wall before reaching the container and allegedly peeing into it. The unidentified man was caught entering a malt container at Tsingtao beer factory in Pingdu, China. In the sickening footage, the man is then seen taking off his pants and peeing into what is thought to be a container containing beer’s primary ingredients.
The malt was set aside to make thousands of pints of beer, but it has all been wasted as a result of the heinous act, which the authorities are currently looking into. The person who filmed the video that was posted to Weibo was also arrested.
The company said, “Our company attaches high importance to the relevant video that emerged from Tsingtao Brewery No. 3 on 19 October. We reported the incident to the police at the earliest opportunity, and public security organisations are involved in the investigation. At present, the batch of malt in question has been completely sealed. The company continues to strengthen its management procedures and ensure product quality.”
The Pingdu Market Authority announced that the Tsingtao beer factory quickly assembled a team and carried out an investigation at the location highlighted in the trending video.
According to close sources, the man in the video is not a Tsingtao employee but rather a loader employed by a third-party labour supplier. Nevertheless, the incident has hurt the sixth-largest global brewer of beer, as shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange fell by 1% on Friday (20 October) and another 7.5 % on Monday (23 October).
Lawyer Shao Ke told the local media that he thought the incident broke Chinese health laws. A warning or up to seven years in prison are possible penalties for the infraction.
Tsingtao beer factory claimed that despite online users complaining that the incident had turned them off the company’s beverages, production was still running as usual.
They further stated: “At present, the production and operation of the company are normal in every respect.”
