Ex-LA Lakers player, Dwight Howard has been a part of a lot of controversies throughout his career. The latest controversy following the ex-NBA player comes after a man named Stephen Howard filed a lawsuit against Howard for assault, battery, emotional distress, and false imprisonment.
What Happened To Dwight Howard?
The ex-NBA player has played for top-league teams such as Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, and LA Lakers. The 37-year-old was earlier accused of sleeping with transgenders and men by Masin Elije. Masin Elije is a transgender woman who claimed that she and Howard were in a relationship briefly. In 2018, Elije went public about their relationship exposing how Howard and his pastor are harassing her. The 27-year-old further claimed that she was offered hush money by Dwight Howard’s team to not speak publicly about their relationship by signing a non-disclosure agreement.
Elije had even exposed Howard’s chats on Twitter where she had enquired the NBA player about his sexual orientation. While Howard never admitted to anything in the chat, he had also not clearly denied anything Elije had accused him of.

Elije also alleged that Howard used to frequent Transgender sex parties which made it hard for her to continue their relationship.
“My friend took a deeper look into her page, she actually host TRANSGENDER SEX PARTIES that Dwight Howard (allegedly) often attends, so YES, I lost every bit of my mind”
However, Howard did address the situation on Kristy Leahy’s show Fair Game, where he stated that a lot has been said about him and that he did not know who Elije was.
“It ended up being a situation that was, it went viral. People were talking about it, and it upset me because I didn’t even know who the person was.”
“Why would somebody, who I never met, never had any contact with, make up a whole story about me? I saw all the hate, the pure hate, from people that I’ve never met before, just pile up everywhere I went.”
He also stated that he wasn’t gay and he has nothing to hide.
“I’m not gay. It’s a lot of people who are and they have to hide, and there’s people who have mental issues and they have to hide. There’s people who have different problems in life and they have to hide.”
“They have to put on the mask every day, and it’s like, I don’t wanna wear no mask, I just wanna be.”
What Is The Lawsuit Against Filed by Stephen Harper About?
A man named Stephen Harper has filed a lawsuit against ex-Lakers player Dwight Howard for sexual assault, battery, emotional distress, and false imprisonment. Harper has provided screenshots of their text exchanges as proof of evidence in the lawsuit as well. According to Radar Online, the text exchanges between Harper and Howard started in 2021. The texts show that Howard and Harper exchanged texts of flirty and sexual nature.
The screenshot of the chat also shows Howard stating that he isn’t gay but he is just “nasty” sometimes.
“Now I want you to know I’m not like gay or anything. I’m jus a lil nasty sometimes.”
On July 19, 2021, Dwight Howard invited Harper over to his home and asked if he would be interested in a threesome with a man dressed as a woman named “Kitty.” Harper claimed that he was asked to join Kitty and Dwight Howard in their sexual acts and was later forced down by Howard despite withdrawing his consent. Harper has claimed that he was sexually assaulted continuously by the NBA player despite asking him to stop.
There have been no comments by Dwight Howard or his team regarding the lawsuit so far.
