When is The Coronation Weekend, and what events are scheduled for it?
The last coronation witnessed by the Brits was in 1953. This was when Queen Elizabeth became the Queen. After her recent death, her son Charles III will be named the king. His wife Camilla will be the Queen. Charles III’s firstborn son William will be the next heir to the throne.
King Charles III’s coronation celebrations will occur from Saturday, May 6, to Monday, May 8, 2023. Westminster Abbey will broadcast the coronation live, where they crown the king and the queen consort.
The coronation lu will organize street parties on the same day, and Windsor Castle will host a unique coronation concert on Sunday, which will be televised live. Various British and Commonwealth performers will perform, including the specially commissioned Coronation Choir.

May 6 will be a full-day occasion covered by news channels worldwide. The U.K. government declared in 2022 that King Charles’ coronation celebrations would include an additional national holiday on Monday, May 8, to allow for community celebrations. Sunak, the present Prime Minister of the U.K, declared that the day would allow people to commemorate a “special time” in their nation’s history. Sunak announced
“The Coronation of a new monarch is a unique moment for our country. In recognition of this historic occasion, I am pleased to announce an additional bank holiday for the whole United Kingdom. I look forward to seeing people come together to celebrate and pay tribute to King Charles III by taking part in local and national events across the country in his honor,”
Monday will be announced as a public holiday. On this day, a volunteering event will occur where organizations and community services will reach out to needy people. Banks will also be given a Holiday. These are all the events that will occur after the coronation.
