Game of Thrones Season 8 is all set to premiere on Sunday, the 14th of April 2019. The show is an HBO-exclusive and has become a cult favourite over its decade-long run. Interestingly, there’s been some speculation of late that after GoT finishes airing, the entire series will be made available on Netflix!
Let us now take a closer look at what are the possibilities of being able to watch Game of Thrones Season 8 on Netflix. Is it really going to happen?
Game of Thrones Season 8 on Netflix: Is That Really Happening?
As the finale of Game of Thrones inches closer, the rumours of the show getting listed on Netflix are also getting louder. However, the biggest problem here is that Game of Thrones is an HBO-exclusive show and hence it is very unlikely that it will get listed on Netflix.
Nevertheless, once HBO has milked the profits out of GoT season 8, and if Netflix makes the right amount of offer, there’s still a chance that we might get to watch the entire Game of Thrones series on Netflix!
Why is Netflix Desperate to get GoT Season 8?
Netflix likely wants to list the entire Game of Thrones series on to their platform. This is because the company will be facing a new competition in the form of Disney+ which will start off in November 2019.
Hence, in order to combat that upcoming threat, HBO will list Game of Thrones Season 8 (along with all the other seasons) on to its platform in a purchase which will likely cost a record-breaking amount of money.
