Is Judge Steve Harvey Scripted?
Judge Steve Harvey has long been presented as a reality TV show. As an unscripted show, it is not based on any planned scripts and is totally dependent on the cast’s improvisation. Moreover, producers are supposed to abstain from manipulating the plotline while the participants are free to behave naturally in front of the cameras.
Additionally, it is not allowed to pre-plan an activity and repeat it on camera, as all the recorded footage must be spontaneous and direct. The show proves to be genuine due to it having real people with true issues. Nevertheless, it should be noted that aside from its setting not being accurate to a real courtroom, the production crew is careful to vet each individual before granting them an invitation to be on the show.
Despite having cameras rolling, the cast members are allowed to speak their minds freely, and the show captures every argument. Furthermore, sometimes such disputes have personal and emotional components which are also discussed frankly during filming.
The cast members are encouraged to express themselves candidly, regardless of how controversial their statements might be. Plus, Steve has the liberty to chime in with his views whenever he pleases, generally coming up with his opinions spontaneously. In addition, the conclusion he comes to is arrived at after a thorough examination of the evidence, and it is not something that has been predestined or scripted.
While Steve Harvey isn’t a real judge, he has expressed his desire to put his sensible judgment to good use.
“I always just thought it would be a cool thing to use my sensibilities, my rationale, my type of judgment and humor to solve some everyday problems, as long as they’re not too serious.”
