David Rysdahl was born on April 2, 1987. He was raised in New Ulm, Minnesota by his parents Gigi and Dr. Scott Rysdahl, alongside his two brothers and sister. He spent his formative years attending Cathedral High School before venturing into public health work in Guatemala.
However, his passion for acting eventually led him to pursue it as a career. This led to his role in a production of Hamlet at the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, Minnesota.
Following his relocation to New York, Rysdahl began his acting career in short films. In 2018, he took on a leading role in Cathy Yan’s comedic drama Dead Pigs, followed by appearances in the fantasy drama Nine Days in 2020 and the thriller No Exit in 2022.
