In the early days of June 2009, something unimaginable happened involving a woman named Debra Jeter. She did something terrible to her own children, Kelsey and Kiersten. She slit their throats. She intended to kill both children, however, Kiersten survived. She then called 911 to tell them about it.
Debra Jeter Tried to kill her own children
Debra Jeter, who knew how to take care of people because she was a nurse, tried to kill her own children. Kiersten, even though she was hurt too, managed to survive. She was very brave and begged her mom to call for help. And guess what? Debra called for help, but she didn’t help Kiersten herself. She just walked around and waited for other people to come and help.
Kiersten had to go to the hospital very quickly. Doctors had to do an emergency surgery to make her better. Thankfully, she made it through and was saved.
Debra Jeter did this terrible act, and the police came to stop her. They found her with a phone in her hand and one of her children on a car nearby. They arrested her and put her in a special place where they watched her to make sure she didn’t hurt herself.
Later on, Debra admitted to her crimes. She said she was guilty . She agreed to a deal where she would spend her whole life in prison, but she wouldn’t be put to death. This meant she would never be free again.

After some time, Debra’s husband Lester Jeter found someone else to marry. He married Emily Jeter a few years later. But what about Kiersten, the girl who survived? She chose to keep her life private. She didn’t want people to know too much about her. She posted on social media and said that if people didn’t know her personally, they shouldn’t try to be her friend.
Kiersten also said that she appreciates the kind words from people, but she wants her privacy to be respected. She has an Instagram account, but it’s private, and she wants only certain people to follow her.
