Dimitri is currently 8 years old and will turn 9 in November this year. According to People, Kutcher named his son’s middle name after his stepfather, Mark Portwood. There are very few images of their youngest son on the internet as the couple chooses to keep their kids away from paparazzi and media attention. In a 2017 interview with iHeartRadio, Kutcher talked about their decision to not share any images of their kids.
“We don’t share any photos of our kids publicly because we feel that being public is a personal choice. My wife and I have chosen a career where we’re in the public light, but my kids have not so I think they have the right to choose that.”
However, he added that the couple does share their kids’ photos with their grandparents and close relatives via a “private social network.”
Dimitri Portwood Kutcher shares a great bond with both his parents. He is often spotted outdoors hanging out with his elder sister and loving mother, Mila Kunis. The 8-year-old also accompanies his father to adventurous activities such as hiking. When talk show host Ellen DeGeneres once teased him about always carrying his son, he responded-
“I now have a complex about this, because I have one of those hiking backpack things, so I put him in the hiker to go down to the beach so we can actually go down the beach; otherwise it’s a whole wrangling session with the kid. And then you came out and you were like, ‘Oh, does he walk?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes! He walks!’”
Why Did Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher Name Their Son Dimitri?
Ashton Kutcher once revealed how they decided to name their son Dimitri Portwood Kutcher. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Kutcher revealed that on a date night, Kunis predicted that Donald Trump would be winning the presidential election and that their son’s name was going to be Dimitri. He further added that he was so concerned about her prediction about Trump winning the election that he didn’t discuss the baby’s name.
However, the name stuck with him and they decided to go ahead with Dimitri Portwood Kutcher for their son’s name.
‘Two weeks later, I got home from work, and for some reason the name just stuck in my head.”
‘I was like, ‘I think Dimitri is the name of the baby.’ And she was like, ‘I know, right?’ ‘Yeah, that’s it!’ So, that’s it. And then Trump became President. Everything Mila says is right! She’s my wife, so that’s just what it is.
