Who is Kathleen McLaughlin?
Kathleen is the ex-wife of Jared Fogle who was sentenced to 15 years in prison for sex crimes involving minors. Kathleen and Jared got married in 2010 and lived in Zionsville, Indiana. The couple had a pretty happy married life with two kids Brady and Quinn. When Kathleen was interviewed after Jared’s arrest in 2015, she told the reporters that Jared was a good father and had a great relationship with their kids. She also said that she never suspected that her husband would be involved in such disgraceful acts of crime and nothing ever seemed out of the ordinary.
In an interview with CBS News, Kathleen said that she was “shocked” to see the FBI at their house.
“No. No, I didn’t understand any of it to be honest. I mean you just — you float out of yourself because the FBI shouldn’t be in your house.”
Soon after Jared’s arrest, Kathleen filed for divorce and sole custody of their children. She also expressed that she was angry with Jared Fogle.
“I mean anyone would have anger for a person who was supposed to do nothing but protect his children,”
Where is Kathleen McLaughlin now?
Kathleen McLaughlin is currently residing in Zionsville, Indiana with her two kids. She also stated in the interview that she had no idea what Fogle was up to.
“He had two lives going on. You know, he was home with the kids and I in one life and he was out on the road in a different life, and he was able to keep those two very separate in a way that I couldn’t even fathom.”
“There are going to be people out there who believe what they want to believe about me. I mean, how could anyone think that I would stay married to a man and have children with a man who was doing this? Of course I wouldn’t be there. Of course I wouldn’t stay with him. I did not know.”
After Jared was sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined $225,000 along with $1.4 million in restitution fees, Kathleen filed a suit against Subway. According to Kathleen McLaughlin, the company where Jared worked as a spokesperson was also responsible for what he did. She filed a lawsuit to sue Subway for their negligence in handling a complaint against Jared which would have stopped him from committing such heinous acts much earlier. However, the suit was dismissed in 2017.
Kathleen McLaughlin is raising her children as a single mother in Indiana. She is surrounded by her loved ones and wishes to leave her past behind. She is very private about her life and stays away from anything that has to do with Jared Fogle.
