Mia Threapleton is an English actor who is also famously known as Kate Winslet’s daughter. She appeared alongside her mother in the 2022 single drama “I Am Ruth.” She has also been cast in the upcoming historical series The Buccaneers, set to air in 2023.
Early Life
Mia Honey Threapleton was born in London on 12 October 2000, as the daughter of actress Kate Winslet and film director Jim Threapleton. Sadly, her parents’ marriage ended in a divorce the following year.
Mia comes from a large, mixed family and has four siblings from her parents’ subsequent unions. In 2008, Threapleton married Julie Vuorinen, and they had a daughter named Olivia.
The Telegraph reported that Winslet was overjoyed to hear about their announcement. Jim Threapleton and Vuorinen are also parents to a second daughter, Georgia.
In the meantime, Winslet gave birth to her son Joe Alfie in 2003 with her former partner Sam Mendes and had another son named Bear Blaze in 2013 with her current husband Edward Abel Smith. Mia easily adapted to her role as an older sister and assisted her mother in taking care of her younger siblings.

Kate Winslet had a strong feeling that her daughter would pursue acting, and her intuition was correct. At the age of 14, Mia Threapleton made her acting debut as Helene in A Little Chaos. She has since taken on the roles of Alma in the 2020 Italian film Shadows and Rose in the 2022 American television series Dangerous Liaisons.
In 2022, Mia Threapleton and her mother acted together in the Channel 4 series “I Am Ruth,” putting Mia’s acting abilities to the ultimate challenge. Soon after, Winslet expressed her amazement at Mia’s performance, stating that she was thoroughly impressed and that Mia didn’t require her assistance at all.
The next year, the mother-daughter duo graced the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards. Kate Winslet was crowned best actress and their project took home the award for best single drama.
