Viviana Ortiz hails from Corozal, Puerto Rico, and was born to Héctor Ortiz and Mercedes Pastrana. She has an older sister and a younger brother, making her the middle child.

Standing at a height of 1.77 m, Ortiz represented Corozal as a contestant in the 2011 Miss Universe Puerto Rico pageant in San Juan. She was awarded the Payless Best Catwalk and JCPenney Best Style awards, and ultimately won the title of Miss Universe Puerto Rico.
On her 25th birthday, September 12, 2011, she competed in the Miss Universe pageant in São Paulo, Brazil, where she placed in the Top 16.
Viviana represented Puerto Rico in Univision’s Nuestra Belleza Latina 2013 and was a member of Lupita Jones’ team. Despite facing difficult challenges throughout the competition, she managed to secure a spot in the top 5.
Ultimately, she placed third and was granted a scholarship to attend Televisa’s Centro de Educacion Artistica (CEA) in Mexico to pursue acting.
