Chance Perdomo, an up-and-coming actor in Hollywood, was on the rise to stardom until a devastating tragedy struck. He rose to fame after his role in Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and continued to gain popularity with his appearance in the spinoff series Gen V of The Boys.
Sadly, news has emerged that the 27-year-old actor has passed away in a motorcycle crash. His publicist released a statement which read,
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident. Authorities have advised that no other individuals were involved.
His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”
Early Life & Childhood
Born in Los Angeles, California, Chance Perdomo relocated to Southampton, England with his mother during his childhood. He held dual citizenship in both Britain and America and inherited his Latino roots from his mother.
He completed his education at Redbridge Community School and later, at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, where he was chosen as the president of the student union for the sixth form.
After completing his education, Perdomo initially planned to study Law but ultimately chose to pursue a career in acting. He used the money he earned from working at a shoe shop and a cinema to move to London, where he joined the National Youth Theatre and received training at the Identity School of Acting.
Chance Perdomo’s Acting Career
Before securing the role of Ambrose Spellman in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Chance Perdomo had previously appeared in multiple TV shows and short films. He went on to portray the character for four seasons, from 2018 to 2020.
In 2018, he received a BAFTA nomination for his portrayal of Jerome Rogers, a self-employed delivery person who took his own life at the age of 20 in 2016 due to the burden of two traffic tickets. The nomination was for the category of Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role in the dramatic reenactment titled Killed by My Debt.
He starred as Andre Anderson, a student with the ability to control the world using magnetic forces, in the Prime Video show Gen V, which is a spinoff of the superhero satire-drama The Boys.
Last year’s Hollywood Strikes saw the highly acclaimed debut of the first season. However, the second season’s production, originally slated to start filming in April, has been put on hold indefinitely due to Perdomo’s passing.

After the passing of her The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina colleague Chance Perdomo, Kiernan Shipka reflects on their time together.
“Chancey Pants.
Oh man this hurts.
He was a one of a kind soul. Just the most fiery, creative, loving, connected, and caring force you could possibly imagine…
As playful as he was kind. As loving as he was hilarious. He never failed to make me laugh and he never failed to keep me on my toes (or off of them if he was giving me a piggyback ride to my trailer which he often did. Thanks Chance.)
His humanity was a generous gift to me and to so many people. Really hard to picture this world without him in it. I loved him with my whole heart. I always will.”
