John Travolta and Kelly Preston were overjoyed to become parents for the first time when they welcomed their son, Jett Travolta on April 13, 1992. In 1994, the actor expressed his deep adoration for being a father to PEOPLE, stating that he couldn’t think of a life without Jett.

“After he was born and cleaned up, I held him for hours while Kelly slept. When they came to take him away for various tests, I said, ‘No, you can’t see him today. You’ll have to do it another day.’ I went a little nutsy.”
Jett Travolta had a medical history of experiencing seizures since he was two years old. At 15 months, he was hospitalized with Kawasaki disease and was also diagnosed with autism.

Travolta and Preston shared that their son Jett fell seriously ill at the age of 2 and was diagnosed with Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition that causes inflammation of the blood vessels.
Preston attributed the illness to household cleaning products and fertilizers and claimed that a detox program inspired by the Church of Scientology played a role in his recovery.
John Travolta celebrated his son Jett’s birthday on April 12, 2024. The 70-year-old father shared a heartfelt message on Instagram the day before what would have been Jett’s 32nd birthday, honoring his late son. He wrote,
“Happy birthday my Jetty — not a day goes by where you’re not with me!”
The actor also paid tribute to his late wife Kelly Preston in a throwback photo accompanying his message. The picture captured them standing together with their son Jett in the middle, who could be seen smiling and hugging his mother.
