The new Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max is going to be launched soon. There are numerous benefits that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro line is expected to have over the standard iPhone 15. These benefits will help you understand why you should prefer the iPhone 15 Pro Max over the iPhone 15 Pro.
We are here referring to a variety of improvements, such as a lighter and more powerful titanium design, a display boasting 120Hz ProMotion, lower screen bezels, and newly added solid-state keys that should increase the Pros’ robustness.
Not to mention the A17 Bionic processor, which should be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro. The use of this 3nm technology in a phone would be a first for the industry, and it promises improved performance and power efficiency. Early A17 Bionic series benchmark results, if accurate, far exceed those of devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra.
An excellent periscope-fashioned zoom: available in iPhone Pro Max only
Simply put, the Pro version will be sidelined when it comes to camera upgrades, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max will receive a potent optical zoom. Although this potentially negative news was first reported at the end of January, Kuo reiterated it this week, asserting that the periscope zoom lens of Pro Max will be provided by the manufacturer of the part, Largan. Even a $4 price was mentioned.

In 2H24, only one/highest-end model of the new iPhone 16 may be equipped with a periscope camera, which is lower than the two expected by the market. The demand for lens upgrades is lower than market expectations, which is not good for Largan and Yujingguang.
As previously predicted, the highest-end new iPhone 15 (15 Pro Max or 15 Ultra) in 2H23 will be equipped with a periscope, and the market expects that the periscope camera will be adopted with more iPhone models, which will become the key to driving up the demand for lens upgrades in 2023-2024
However, my latest survey indicates that only one/highest-end model of the new iPhone 16 in 2H24 may still be equipped with a periscope camera, which is lower than the two expected by the market. Therefore, the contribution of the periscope camera to the demand for lens upgrades may be lower than the market consensus.
Only one/the highest-end model of the new 2H24 iPhone 16 series may have a periscope camera, not the two models of market expectation. It’s detrimental to Largan and Genius since the demand for lens upgrades will fall below expectations.
As previously predicted, the highest-end model of the 2H23 new iPhone 15 model (15 Pro Max or 15 Ultra) will adopt the periscope camera. The market expected that adding periscope cameras to more iPhone models would drive demand for lens upgrades in 2023-2024.
But my latest survey indicates only one/highest-end new iPhone 16 model in 2H24 will have the periscope camera, not the two models the market expected. Therefore, the contribution of the periscope camera to the demand for lens upgrades may be lower than the market consensus
This is disappointing because the S23 Ultra has two zoom lenses with telephoto capabilities of zoom up to 3x & 10x magnification, whilst the iPhone Pro series is limited to a 3x optical zoom. A stronger 5x optical zoom is also available with the Pixel 7 Pro from Google.
Concluding Remarks on the Comparison
Given that Apple is supposed to be raising the price of the iPhone 15 Pro series, we anticipate that many consumers will be comparing the value of both models.
A customer will want a new phone that is as future-proof as is conceivable if they are going to spend between $1,100 and $1,200 on it. We enjoy the versatility that a good telephoto zoom provides, so if the early rumours are accurate, we are betting that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be a superior buy.
