A South African business owner and trophy hunter were found dead after being shot in the head.
The New York Post reported that the owner of Pro Hunt Africa was 55 years old and specialized in hunting tours of some of the country’s most magnificent animals.
A lot of the time, he would take to Facebook to share pictures of himself and his clients posing next to the carcasses of animals.
Lieutenant Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi of the South African Police Service told a local outlet that the body of a man was found next to his car.
“The man was lying with his face up and there was blood on his head and face,” Lt. Col. Seabi revealed, adding: “Police found two hunting rifles, ammunition, clothes, water, whiskey, and pyjamas in the deceased’s [vehicle]. It looks like he was on his way to go hunting.”
Lt.Col. Seabi said there was no clear reason for the murder.
The Heritage Protection Group said that they are looking for two suspects in connection with the fatal attack.
“According to eyewitnesses, a white bakkie [truck] stopped next to him and shot him in cold blood at a short distance, after which the two suspects got out and only stole his pistol,” The Heritage Protection Group said.
The HPG added: “They then jumped into the vehicle and raced in the direction of Marken. Traces were trampled on the scene. All the personal belongings were still in the vehicle, weapons, ammunition, hunting equipment, and clothes were left as is.”
