Confirmed back in 2018, The Elder Scrolls 6 is not out yet. Will we get to see it this year? Let’s find out!
Fans have been waiting for a new mainline entry into The Elder Scrolls series for quite some time. In 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launched for the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3. The game has evolved since then from multiple ports to newer generation consoles. It got several upgraded editions, including the Nintendo Switch.
Even though it is among the most loved RPGs, fans are getting tired of Skyrim ports and are eagerly waiting for something new. During E3 2018, there was an announcement about The Elder Scrolls 6. However, the teaser provided no information about what’s next or when’s the release date. Bethesda has been focusing on the new IP Starfield, it is set to release this year.
Will there be the launch of The Elder Scrolls 6 in 2023?
Even though The Elder Scrolls 6 is among one of the most anticipated RPGs, there are lesser chances of its release in 2023. Director Todd Howard gave a hint in November 2021 that fans might have to wait till 2026.

Todd Howard mentioned in an interview,
“It’s going to be roughly, probably, 15 years between Elder Scrolls games because you’re busy with another little thing called Starfield.”
Since Skyrim was released in 2011 and putting together the estimated wait time, The Elder Scrolls 6 will be out around 2026. However, this doesn’t confirm that the game will release in 2026, in June 2022. In another interview, Howard confirmed that the game was in pre-production. Fans will have to wait for some more time before The Elder Scrolls 6 release date is out.
