Will There Be a ‘Black Panther 3’?
The Black Panther cast hopes for another movie in the franchise, despite the death of Chadwick Boseman. Angela Bassett exclusively tells Life & Style on the Golden Globes red carpet in January 2023, “Ryan Coogler is coming down. I hope so.”
The second Black Panther movie, Wakanda Forever, premiered in November 2022 as a tribute to Boseman and introduced Letitia Wright as a new iteration of the Black Panther.
Marvel has not confirmed if the franchise will continue, but the cast remains hopeful. Letitia Wright tells Variety on the Golden Globes red carpet in January 2023 that another movie is “already in the works,” but the cast needs a break. She adds, “I believe good words manifest.”
Previously, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige revealed talks of another film, but working without director Ryan “wouldn’t be the preference.” He says, “This mythology and ensemble deserve to continue.”
What did Letitia Wright say about playing the new Black Panther?
Letitia Wright initially found it “tough” to accept her new role, but director Ryan helped her understand how to honor Boseman. She tells Marvel.com, “Once I felt at peace, I accepted. I committed to honoring God and Chad with Shuri in Wakanda Forever.”
