Along with the premiere of the last season already upon us, there is more good news for fans of Game of Thrones. In a recent interview, George RR Martin that he has picked up speed on penning down the next book of the saga, The Winds of Winter.

The last book in A Song of Ice and Fire epic fantasy novel series was released 8 years ago when the TV show first aired. Since then, George RR Martin has been procrastinating the release of Winds of Winter (his next book), making fans all over the world angry and frustrated.

But it seems to be a good year ahead for Game of Thrones fans. On the premiere of the show, Martin said that he is finally over the writer’s block. He said that he has started working on the next book already. On being asked for a release date, he vaguely replied, “It’ll be done when it’s done.”
No release date yet
Martin seems more focused on completing the Winds of Winter now, as the show is heralding its last installment. He turned down a cameo in Game of Thrones Season 8 because he wanted to work on the book instead. Reports have also stated that he has moved to a remote region in the mountains to help focus on the book.
The series still has two books before it ends. After Winds of Winter, A Dream of Spring will be released. With no release date in sight, there is no concrete information about the release of the book, but this is the most significant information fans have had in years.
